Selah

Pause
made physical.

A twelve-seat sauna and a communal plunge — the most ancient of practices, kept every day. Heat, cold, water, greenery, and silence, held in a disciplined rhythm of restoration.

Design Direction

A living landscape
inside the warehouse.

Natural stone, cedar, lime plaster, and blackened metal express the contrast of heat and cold. A quiet, continuous water element is audible before it is fully seen. Live ivy or a planted wall, when the building allows it, made durable with horticultural lighting and humidity control.

Lighting moves from warm amber at the sauna to cool, low-glare light at the plunge, with darkness preserved between zones. Intentional silence periods — music never competes with water, breath, or conversation.

The Ritual

The healing happens
in the contrast.

A Selah cycle moves through four elements in a disciplined sequence. Kept every day, kept together.

I

The Heat

200°F · 20 min

A twelve-seat Finnish sauna. Water on the stones, silence on the benches, warm amber light and cedar underfoot.

II

The Cold

40°F · 2.5 min

A communal cold plunge — the second half of the cycle, timed to the guided breath through the shock.

III

The Water

Between

A quiet, continuous water element that is audible before it is fully seen — the pause between heat and cold.

IV

The Silence

The final room

No phones, no clocks, no attendants. Sit until you are ready to leave.

Organic Scent System

Botanical, not
atomized.

Selah refuses synthetic saturation. Scent comes from living material, delivered locally where it will be felt, never pushed through building HVAC.

Music never competes with water, breath, or conversation.

Selah opens with the house. Tell us the city, and we'll write when the sauna is hot and the plunge is cold.
